Flight operations at Bangalore airport hit due to fog

Dense fog around Bangalore airport affected both inbound and outbound traffic today, causing delays to several domestic and international flights.

There is also interruption in from flights to bangalore from all destinations from India.

Over a dozen flights to Delhi were delayed by up to two hours after the Bangalore International Airport remained engulfed for over three hours with thick fog.

“Most of the flights from Bangalore and to the city were delayed by up to two hours,” airport officials here said, adding also those coming from Mumbai and other destinations were also delayed due to the cascading effect.

The visibility at the Bangalore airport dropped to 50 metres due to fog at around 6 am, hitting flight operations.

Besides domestic operations, international flights to Dubai and Male were delayed.

AI launches Pune-Hyderabad-Bangalore flight

Air travellers from Pune to the infotech cities of Hyderabad and Bangalore, now have one more option to avail of for their journey.

On Sunday, national carrier Air India (AI) launched a new flight service linking these three cities. This is AI’s third flight service from Pune, following its existing operations to Delhi and Dubai.

The flight, to fly every day except on Saturdays, will take off from Bangalore at 8.10 am to reach Hyderabad at 9.15 am and Pune at 11.15 am. On its return trip, it will take off from Pune at 3.20 pm and land in Hyderabad at 4.25 pm and at Bangalore at 5.45 pm.
As of now, Kingfisher airlines has two early morning flights to Hyderabad and Bangalore and one evening flight to Bangalore; while Jet Airways operates an early morning flight to Hyderabad and an evening flight to Bangalore. SpiceJet operates an early morning cheap Bangalore Flights and Indigo has an evening flight to Bangalore. Jetlite has the lone flight in the afternoon from Pune to Hyderabad.
